Chapter 30 – Good Morning, Ocean πŸŒŠπŸ’™

🎡 Song: Iktara – Wake Up Sid (Instrumental Version)

"Some names are given casually..."

"But some names become a habit before you even realize it."

The next morning...

Aarohi woke up earlier than usual.

The first rain of the year had left the entire city looking fresh.

The roads were still slightly wet.

The trees looked greener.

And the cool breeze entered through her open window.

She stood near her mirror, fixing her hair while getting ready for school.

But her mind...

Was somewhere else.

Or rather...

Someone else.

"Your eyes look like the ocean."

The words replayed in her mind.

Then came his voice...

"Ocean."

Aarohi immediately shook her head.

"Why am I remembering this?"

She picked up her school bag.

"It was just a nickname."

But the small smile on her face proved otherwise.

At the breakfast table...

Anaya noticed immediately.

"Didi."

Aarohi looked up.

"Hmm?"

"Why are you smiling?"

"I'm not."

"You are."

"No."

Anaya narrowed her eyes.

"Is it because of the nickname?"

Aarohi almost dropped her spoon.

"What nickname?"

Anaya tried to look innocent.

"I don't know."

"Maybe..."

She paused dramatically.

"...Ocean?"

Aarohi stared at her.

"Anaya!"

Her younger sister burst into laughter.

"I knew it!"

"Mumma!"

"Your daughter is teasing me."

Nandini smiled from the kitchen.

"Anaya, don't trouble your sister."

"But Maa..."

"She was blushing."

Aarohi immediately looked away.

"I wasn't."

Anaya smiled.

"Sure."

Across the street...

The Malhotra house had a similar morning.

Kabir entered Reyansh's room without knocking.

"Bhai!"

Reyansh looked up from his phone.

"What?"

Kabir smiled.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

Kabir waited.

Reyansh looked at him.

"What?"

"You forgot something."

"What?"

Kabir grinned.

"Today you have to say it."

Reyansh frowned.

"Say what?"

Kabir folded his arms.

"Ocean."

Reyansh immediately understood.

"You were spying yesterday?"

Kabir looked offended.

"I was observing."

"Like you always say."

Reyansh smiled.

"You're becoming smart."

"I learned from the best."

"Who?"

Kabir proudly replied,

"Me."

Reyansh laughed.

At school...

The corridors were full of students.

Everyone was discussing yesterday's rain.

Some students talked about the match.

Some talked about the upcoming exams.

Aarohi walked with Mehak toward their classroom.

Suddenly...

A familiar voice came from behind.

"Good morning."

Aarohi stopped.

She already knew.

She turned around.

Reyansh stood there.

Hands in his pockets.

That same confident smile.

"Good morning, Senior."

Aarohi smiled slightly.

"Good morning, Reyansh."

For a second...

He looked disappointed.

Aarohi noticed.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"You look like you expected something."

"I was."

"What?"

He stepped slightly closer.

Then said casuallyβ€”

"Good morning, Ocean."

Aarohi froze.

Even though she knew he would say it...

Hearing it again felt different.

Her cheeks turned slightly pink.

"You really decided to keep this?"

"Obviously."

"Why?"

He shrugged.

"Because I like it."

Mehak, standing beside Aarohi, immediately looked away to hide her smile.

She whispered,

"Okay..."

"That was actually cute."

Aarohi quickly looked at her.

"Don't start."

Reyansh noticed Mehak whispering.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Definitely something."

Mehak smiled innocently.

"Nothing, Reyansh."

He narrowed his eyes.

But before he could ask more...

The school bell rang.

Students started moving toward their classes.

Aarohi turned to leave.

"Bye."

Reyansh stopped her.

"Wait."

She looked back.

"What?"

He pointed toward her.

"One rule."

She sighed.

"Another rule?"

"No."

"Just a reminder."

"What?"

"Don't forget..."

He smiled.

"...Ocean suits you."

For a second...

Aarohi forgot how to respond.

Then she quickly turned away.

"You're impossible."

Behind her...

Reyansh smiled.

"I know."

Lunch Break

The news had already spread among their small circle.

Not the entire school.

Just the people who mattered.

Kabir sat with Anaya in the canteen.

"So?"

Anaya asked.

"Did he say it?"

Kabir nodded proudly.

"Good morning, Ocean."

Anaya smiled.

"Perfect."

"Our plan is working."

Kabir nodded seriously.

"But slowly."

"Good things take time."

Meanwhile...

Reyansh sat with Arjun.

Arjun looked amused.

"So now she's Ocean?"

Reyansh looked at him.

"Yes."

"You actually gave someone a meaningful nickname."

"Problem?"

"No."

"I'm just surprised."

"Why?"

"Because you usually give people annoying nicknames."

Reyansh smirked.

"She is different."

Arjun became quiet for a moment.

Because that was the first time...

Reyansh had said those words without joking.

She is different.

After school...

Aarohi walked home.

The balcony opposite hers was visible.

For some reason...

She looked up.

And smiled when she saw him there.

Reyansh noticed.

"Ocean."

She shook her head.

"Again?"

"Again."

"You really won't stop."

"No."

"Why?"

He leaned against the balcony railing.

"Because..."

He smiled.

"I like seeing you react."

Aarohi laughed softly.

"You are impossible."

"And you keep saying that."

"Because it's true."

The evening breeze moved between their balconies.

Two neighbors.

Two different worlds.

A shy senior girl.

A troublesome junior boy.

And a nickname that slowly started becoming something more.

That night...

Aarohi saved his contact name differently.

Not Reyansh Malhotra.

Not Neighbour.

Not Annoying Junior.

Just...

🌊 Ocean's Storm

And somewhere across the street...

Reyansh looked at his phone and smiled.

Because her contact name had changed too.
