Chapter 73-The People Who Left Her

"The people who abandon you may one day return. But love teaches you that not everyone deserves the right to come back into your life."

Three days had passed since the documentary aired.

Across the country...

People continued praising the Rathore Foundation.

Letters of appreciation arrived daily.

Children sent handmade cards.

Families shared stories of hope inspired by the documentary.

Life at Rathore Mansion slowly returned to normal.

Or so everyone thought.

That Monday morning...

The family was having breakfast.

Vivaan was trying to feed the puppy pieces of carrot.

The puppy looked offended.

"He doesn't like carrots," Advik laughed.

"He'll learn."

Just then...

The doorbell rang.

Ramu Kaka walked toward the entrance.

A few moments later...

He returned, looking unusually uncomfortable.

"Sir..."

"There are three people here."

"They say..."

"They're here to meet Baby Aadhya."

The dining table fell silent.

Aadhya looked up in confusion.

"Me?"

Ramu Kaka nodded.

"They said they're... family."

A strange feeling settled in her chest.

She slowly stood.

"I'll see who it is."

"No."

Aryaveer stood up immediately.

"We'll go together."

Every brother rose from the table.

Without a word.

Without hesitation.

Vikram calmly adjusted his spectacles.

"Let's go."

The grand doors of Rathore Mansion opened.

Standing outside were...

Mahesh Sharma.

Sunita Sharma.

And beside them...

Aarush.

For a moment...

Time seemed to stop.

Aadhya stared at them.

Her face showed no anger.

No joy.

Only quiet disbelief.

Mahesh forced a smile.

"Aadhya..."

"You've grown so much."

She didn't reply.

Sunita stepped forward.

"We came to take you home."

Silence.

Before Aadhya could say anything...

Vivaan instinctively moved closer to her.

Then Vihaan.

Advik.

Rudransh.

Veeransh.

Aryaveer.

One by one...

The six brothers formed a quiet wall beside their sister.

Not aggressively.

Protectively.

Vikram stepped forward.

His voice remained calm.

"Good morning."

"I'm Vikram Rathore."

Mahesh nodded stiffly.

"We know."

"We're Aadhya's parents."

The words hung in the air.

Then Vikram answered just as calmly,

"Her biological parents."

Mahesh's smile faded slightly.

Sunita folded her hands dramatically.

"We've come for our daughter."

"We've realized our mistake."

"We're family."

No one spoke.

Until Advik muttered under his breath,

"Funny."

"They remembered after television cameras did."

Vihaan elbowed him gently.

Advik fell silent.

Mahesh cleared his throat.

"We only want what's best for her."

Aryaveer looked directly at him.

"Really?"

Mahesh hesitated.

"Of course."

Aryaveer's voice remained polite.

"Then where were you..."

"...when she waited outside an orphanage gate for a year?"

The question landed like a stone.

Mahesh had no answer.

Sunita quickly changed the topic.

"Whatever happened before..."

"She's still our daughter."

"We have rights."

At those words...

Veeransh took one silent step forward.

His expression remained calm.

But his eyes had grown cold.

Rudransh gently placed a reassuring hand on Aadhya's shoulder.

She hadn't moved.

She hadn't spoken.

She simply stood there.

Watching.

Listening.

Mahesh looked around the luxurious mansion.

His eyes briefly lingered on the expensive cars in the driveway.

The grand entrance.

The security staff.

The beautifully maintained gardens.

Then he looked back at Vikram.

"We've heard the Foundation does excellent work."

"We're not unreasonable people."

"If Aadhya is staying here..."

"I'm sure some financial arrangement can be made."

Complete silence.

Not even the birds seemed to sing.

Aadhya slowly lowered her eyes.

She understood.

They hadn't come because they missed her.

They had come because they saw opportunity.

Vivaan looked horrified.

"They..."

"They came for money?"

His voice cracked.

Advik clenched his fists.

"I knew it."

Vihaan's jaw tightened.

"So that's why."

Aryaveer's face remained composed.

But everyone who knew him could see the disappointment in his eyes.

Vikram spoke quietly.

"So let me understand."

"You abandoned a child."

"Years later..."

"You arrive asking for financial benefits."

Mahesh immediately protested.

"That's not what we meant."

Vikram didn't raise his voice.

"Then explain."

Mahesh couldn't.

Aarush stood a little behind his parents.

He looked at Aadhya.

For the first time...

He truly saw her.

Not the sister he barely remembered.

But a young girl standing quietly beside people who clearly loved her.

His gaze fell to the handmade friendship bracelet on her wrist.

Then to the puppy sitting obediently near her feet.

Then to the six brothers standing protectively around her.

His heart felt unexpectedly heavy.

Sunita tried once more.

"Aadhya..."

"Say something."

"We're your parents."

For the first time...

Aadhya slowly looked at her.

There were tears in her eyes.

But her voice never came.

She simply couldn't find the words.

Sensing her discomfort...

Vikram stepped slightly in front of her.

Not hiding her.

Protecting her.

"My daughter is not obligated to answer today."

"If she wishes to speak with you in the future..."

"That decision will be hers."

"And hers alone."

Mahesh's expression hardened.

"You can't keep her away from us."

Before anyone else could respond...

A calm voice came from the entrance.

"Actually..."

"You cannot force contact either."

Everyone turned.

The Rathore family's legal advisor had just arrived.

He carried a file in his hand.

Vikram had quietly asked him to come the moment Ramu Kaka informed him of the visitors.

The lawyer greeted everyone politely.

"Good morning."

He looked toward Mahesh and Sunita.

"I've reviewed the records."

"The adoption was completed legally."

"Parental rights were lawfully transferred years ago."

He handed them an envelope.

"If you attempt harassment, coercion, or financial claims..."

"The Rathore family will pursue all legal remedies available."

Mahesh's hands trembled as he accepted the papers.

Sunita looked around desperately.

"This isn't fair."

Advik finally spoke.

"No."

"What wasn't fair..."

"...was leaving a little girl at an orphanage."

The words echoed through the silent courtyard.

Mahesh realized there was nothing more to say.

He slowly turned toward the gate.

Sunita followed.

Aarush remained standing for one extra moment.

He looked at Aadhya.

Their eyes met.

He wanted to say something.

Anything.

But no words came.

He quietly lowered his head.

Then walked away with his parents.

The mansion gates slowly closed.

The sound echoed softly.

Aadhya continued staring at them long after they had disappeared.

No tears.

No anger.

Only silence.

After a few moments...

A warm hand gently rested on her shoulder.

Vikram.

"You don't have to carry this alone, beta."

She finally looked at him.

Then at her six brothers.

Without saying a word...

Vivaan stepped forward first and hugged her tightly.

One by one...

The others joined.

Soon...

She stood wrapped in the familiar embrace of the people who had never once made her question whether she belonged.

The puppy barked happily and squeezed into the middle of the group, making everyone laugh through their tears.

Vikram smiled gently.

"My daughter..."

"No matter who comes to this gate..."

"Remember one thing."

"You will never again stand alone."

For the first time since seeing the people who had left her behind...

Aadhya closed her eyes.

Not because she wanted to escape the past.

But because she finally understood something the frightened little girl waiting outside the orphanage gate never could.

Some people give you life.

Others give you a home.

And she already knew which one mattered more.
