Chapter 65-The Promise Ring

"Some promises aren't written on paper. They're worn close to the heart every single day."

The morning after Aarav's birthday party...

Rathore Mansion was unusually peaceful.

Sunlight filtered through the large windows as everyone gathered for breakfast.

Aadhya entered the dining room carrying a basket of freshly baked muffins she had made with Ramu Kaka.

"Good morning!"

"Morning, Sunshine."

Aryaveer smiled.

"Morning, Dove."

Rudransh added.

"Morning, Munchkin."

"Morning, Pumpkin."

"Morning, Twinny!"

"Morning, Chhoti."

Aadhya laughed.

"Good morning to all six of you too."

As breakfast ended, Vikram looked around the table.

"I have to go to an important meeting."

He stood up.

"But before I leave..."

He smiled at Aadhya.

"Get ready by eleven."

She looked confused.

"Why, Papa?"

"It's a surprise."

Naturally...

The brothers immediately became curious.

Advik leaned closer.

"Can we know?"

"No."

Vivaan pouted.

"That's unfair."

Vikram only smiled.

"You'll all find out soon."

Exactly at eleven...

The family got into the cars.

After almost forty minutes...

They stopped outside one of Jaipur's most well-known jewellery boutiques.

Aadhya looked at the building in surprise.

"Papa..."

"Why are we here?"

Vikram smiled mysteriously.

"Come."

Inside...

A sales executive warmly welcomed the Rathore family.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Rathore."

"Everything is ready."

Aadhya looked from the salesman to Vikram.

"...Ready?"

The salesman carefully placed a velvet tray on the counter.

Several delicate rings sparkled under the lights.

Aadhya immediately stepped back.

"Papa..."

"I don't need jewellery."

Vikram smiled gently.

"I know."

"This isn't about jewellery."

He picked up a simple platinum ring.

It wasn't flashy.

Just elegant.

On the inside...

A tiny engraving could be seen.

Forever Our Sunshine

Aadhya looked at it silently.

"It's beautiful..."

Vikram turned toward her.

"When you first came home..."

"You carried only one small cloth bag."

She nodded.

"I remember."

"You never asked for anything."

"You were afraid to touch anything."

"You apologized for every little mistake."

His voice softened.

"But today..."

"I want you to carry something that reminds you of one truth."

He gently held the ring.

"You belong with us."

"Always."

Tears filled Aadhya's eyes.

"Papa..."

Vikram smiled.

"This isn't an expensive gift."

"It's a promise."

"No matter where life takes you..."

"No matter how old you become..."

"No matter what happens..."

"You'll always have a family waiting for you."

He gently slipped the ring onto her finger.

It fit perfectly.

Aadhya stared at the tiny ring.

Then, without thinking...

She hugged Vikram tightly.

"I love it, Papa."

"It's the most beautiful gift I've ever received."

Vikram hugged her back.

"I'm glad, beta."

Advik dramatically wiped imaginary tears.

"Great."

"Now Papa made everyone emotional."

Vivaan looked at the ring.

"I want one too."

Vihaan laughed.

"Jealous?"

"Yes."

The salesman smiled.

"I actually prepared something else as well."

He opened another box.

Inside were...

Seven identical black thread bracelets with a small silver charm.

Each charm had a tiny sun engraved on one side.

And the Rathore family initials on the other.

The brothers looked surprised.

Vikram smiled.

"I ordered these weeks ago."

"So no one feels left out."

Vivaan immediately grabbed one.

"Matching!"

Advik grinned.

"I approve."

One by one...

The brothers tied the bracelets around their wrists.

Finally...

Aadhya tied the last bracelet around Vikram's wrist herself.

She smiled.

"Now everyone matches."

Outside the boutique...

The family stopped for photographs.

Advik insisted on posing dramatically.

Vihaan laughed so hard he almost dropped his sunglasses.

Vivaan refused to let go of Aadhya's arm.

Aryaveer quietly adjusted her dupatta before the picture.

Rudransh noticed her bracelet had twisted and fixed it gently.

Veeransh simply stood beside her, making sure she was comfortable.

The photographer smiled.

"I've never seen siblings this close."

Advik proudly answered,

"She's our favourite person."

Vivaan corrected him.

"Our favourite sister."

Aadhya giggled.

"I'm your only sister."

"Exactly."

On the drive home...

Aadhya kept looking at the ring.

She gently ran her thumb over the engraving.

Forever Our Sunshine

Veeransh noticed.

"You've looked at it at least twenty times."

She smiled sheepishly.

"I still can't believe it's mine."

Aryaveer looked at her through the rear-view mirror.

"It isn't just yours."

She looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

He smiled.

"It's our promise."

That evening...

Aadhya carefully placed her old orphanage cloth bag inside her wardrobe.

Then she looked at the ring shining on her finger.

Once...

She had clung to that little bag because it was the only thing she owned.

Now...

She wore something far more precious.

Not because of its value.

But because of what it represented.

A promise.

A home.

A father who chose her.

Six brothers who adored her.

And a family that would never let her wonder where she belonged again.

She kissed the engraved words softly before switching off the bedside lamp.

A small smile remained on her face.

Because every time she looked at the ring...

She would remember...

She wasn't unwanted anymore.

She was, and always would be...

Their Sunshine.
