Chapter 21-Twinny

"Some nicknames are not given because they are accurate. They are given because they are full of love."

A week had passed since Aadhya joined St. Xavier's International School.

She had slowly begun settling into her new routine.

Her classes were going well.

Siya, Kiara, Kabir, Dev, and Arjun had made sure she was never left alone.

The teachers appreciated her sincerity.

Even the corridors, which had seemed so intimidating on the first day, no longer felt unfamiliar.

Still...

There was one person who continued treating every school day like an adventure.

Vivaan Rathore.

It was the short morning break.

Aadhya had just stepped out of her classroom with Siya and Kiara when she heard a familiar voice from the opposite corridor.

"Aadhya!"

She turned.

Vivaan came jogging toward her, his school tie hanging loosely around his neck and a huge smile on his face.

"How's your day?"

She smiled.

"It's been good."

"Only good?"

"It should be amazing."

Kiara laughed.

"I think your brother has too much energy."

Vivaan grinned proudly.

"Thank you."

"...That wasn't a compliment."

Just then, a group of junior students walked past them.

One little boy tugged at his friend's sleeve and whispered—not quietly enough—

"Isn't she the new Rathore sister?"

Another nodded.

"I think so."

A third child asked curiously,

"Who's the new girl?"

Vivaan heard every word.

He looked at Aadhya.

Then at the curious juniors.

A mischievous smile slowly spread across his face.

"Oh..."

"I've got an idea."

Aadhya immediately became suspicious.

"Vivaan..."

"What are you planning?"

He simply winked.

"You'll see."

Before she could react...

Vivaan gently placed an arm around her shoulders.

She looked at him in surprise.

He stood as proudly as if he were introducing the most important person in the world.

Then he called out dramatically,

"Attention, everyone!"

Students nearby instinctively looked in their direction.

Some juniors stopped walking.

Even a few seniors turned around.

Dev, who had been passing by with Arjun, whispered,

"Oh no."

"He's about to perform."

Vivaan cleared his throat theatrically.

"Ladies and gentlemen..."

He pointed toward Aadhya with an exaggerated flourish.

"This..."

"...is my sister."

He paused dramatically.

Everyone waited.

Aadhya looked thoroughly embarrassed.

"Vivaan..."

But he wasn't finished.

With the biggest grin on his face, he proudly declared,

"My Twinny!"

For a second...

The corridor was completely silent.

Then—

Laughter echoed everywhere.

Not mocking laughter.

Warm, cheerful laughter.

Even Aadhya couldn't help smiling.

One of the junior boys blinked in confusion.

"Really?"

"She's your twin?"

Vivaan looked at him with complete seriousness.

"The best twin."

The little boy tilted his head.

"But..."

"You don't look the same."

Vivaan placed a hand over his heart dramatically.

"We're twins by destiny."

"Not by face."

Dev immediately joined in.

"Scientific explanation."

Kabir, who had just arrived, adjusted his glasses.

"I'm fairly certain that's not how twins work."

Vivaan ignored him.

"The important thing..."

He smiled at Aadhya.

"...is that she's my Twinny."

Aadhya shook her head, trying not to laugh.

"You made that up just now."

"I did."

"It's silly."

"It's perfect."

She sighed dramatically.

"I don't even know how to respond."

"Simple."

He grinned.

"Say, 'Yes, little brother.'"

"I'm older than you by a few months."

"Details."

"They're important details."

"They're tiny details."

Siya folded her arms with a smile.

"I think it's adorable."

Kiara nodded enthusiastically.

"It suits you."

Dev raised a finger.

"I officially approve."

Arjun chuckled.

"Too late."

"I think the whole school already does."

Just then...

The school bell rang.

Students hurried toward their classrooms.

As Aadhya turned to leave—

Vivaan called out loudly across the corridor,

"Bye, Twinny!"

She looked back.

A tiny smile appeared on her face.

"Bye, Vivaan."

He immediately frowned.

"No."

She blinked.

"What?"

"You don't call me Vivaan."

"You call me..."

He folded his arms expectantly.

"...Little Brother?"

He looked horrified.

"Absolutely not."

She giggled.

"Then what?"

He thought for a second.

"...Viv."

She laughed.

"Fine."

"Bye, Viv."

He smiled in satisfaction.

"Much better."

Over the next few days...

The nickname spread faster than anyone expected.

Whenever Vivaan saw her in the corridors—

"Good morning, Twinny!"

During lunch—

"Twinny! Save me a gulab jamun!"

After school—

"Twinny! Wait for me!"

At sports practice—

"Twinny! Look at that goal!"

Within a week...

Even students who barely knew her had started smiling whenever they heard the nickname.

One afternoon...

Aadhya was leaving the library with a stack of books when her English teacher crossed paths with them.

Vivaan hurried over.

"Ma'am!"

"I was looking for my Twinny."

The teacher looked at Aadhya.

Then at Vivaan.

A warm smile appeared on her face.

"So..."

"You're the famous Twinny."

Aadhya blushed.

"I... I suppose I am."

The teacher chuckled.

"I've heard that nickname echo through these corridors so many times this week."

"I'm beginning to think that's your real name."

The students nearby laughed.

Even Aadhya smiled shyly.

As they walked toward the school gate that afternoon...

Vivaan looked at her proudly.

"You know..."

"What?"

"I don't think I'll ever call you Aadhya again."

She raised an eyebrow.

"Never?"

"Nope."

"You're my Twinny."

"And that's final."

She looked at him for a long moment.

Then smiled with a warmth that reached her eyes.

"Alright..."

"...Little Brother."

Vivaan groaned dramatically.

"One battle at a time."

The two siblings walked out of the school gates, playfully arguing all the way to the car.

Watching them from a distance, several teachers smiled to themselves.

Because in just a few short weeks...

The quiet girl who had once walked through the corridors with her head down had become known by a name that carried laughter, belonging, and unconditional affection.

From that day onward...

To Vivaan—

She was never just Aadhya again.

She would always be...

Twinny.
